Abstract

The study covered effects of Caffeine on simple and integral reactions of locomotive drivers. A total of 224 individuals was polled. Caffeine appeared to stimulate significant occupational functions of the drivers in first hours and subsequently hamper them by 2nd--4th hours. Low doses (about 0.04 g) occurred notably effective. Primary paradoxical reactions were frequent. The authors presented practical recommendations on intake of Caffeine-containing drinks against the drivers' sleep at work, with consideration of doses, schedule of intake and individual response.
