Abstract

The study applied the descriptive method with the use of interview involving thirty respondents with different age, birth order, family size, place of origin, parents occupation and educational level; these served as predetermined variables. The interview was conducted to thirty (30) streets children in Cagayan de Oro City, to (1) determine the profile in terms of(a) age (b) sex (c) birth order (d) family size (e) place of origin (f ) parents occupation (g) educational level. In summary conclusion, most of the respondents belong to (a) age of 12 - 14 years old, (b) sex as male, (c) family size of 7 - 10 members of the family, (d) birth order of 5 and above, (e) place of origin belong to the city areas, (f ) father 's occupation which is a trisikad driver, (g) mother has no occupation or no work at all, (h) educational attainment which is elementary level, who are the respondents that committed more delinquent acts based on the researchers interview the finding revealed that the age that recorded the highest incidence in 36 identified delinquent acts is the age 12 - 14 years old. The age that recorded highest incidence in 21 out of 36 identified delinquent acts. While in terms of sex, male recorded higher in all of the delinquent acts (36 out of 36) this goes to show that male street children have higher possibility to commit delinquent acts than female street children. As can be seen, family size of 7 - 10 recorded the higher incidence of delinquent acts. This means that the larger members of the family, the higher are the tendency or possibility that children in the family will commit delinquent acts. The birth order that recorded highest incidence in 36 identified delinquent acts is five or above. The said birth order recorded highest incidence in 27 out of 36 identified delinquent acts because of maturity, while the youngest child whose the highest tendency to commit delinquent acts because of immaturity or that the parents neglect to give them care as parents seems tired of extending care to their youngest child ,especially when their children reaches five or more. The place of origin that recorded higher incidence in all delinquent acts is in the city. This shows that children whose origin are from grown in the city have higher tendency to commit delinquent acts than those children who grew in the municipality. The father 's occupation that recorded the highest incidence is trisikad driver which proves that children whose father is working with an unstable job have higher possibility to commit delinquent acts. And in terms with the mother's occupation, the highest incidence recorded is that they have no work at all or unemployed. In terms of their educational attaintment, almost all of the respondents are unable to fininsh elementary level, who committed more delinquent acts.
