Abstract

The role of parental neglect in the aeteology of the Protein-Energy Malnutrition in a rapidly changing social and environmental circumstance of a developing country is highlighted in this paper. Findings from research work seem to support the view that the primary problems of malnutrition in the urban communities of the country are connected with parental neglect. Suggestions were made for further studies to elucidate the problems. The establishment of institutions, organizations and social welfare systems that will cater to the needs of working mothers is strongly advocated.
