Abstract

Students with moderate to severe behavior problems present tremendous challenges to even the most experienced classroom teachers. In this article, we describe 12 practical strategies that could be used by classroom teachers and practitioners to prevent escalation in behavior. The strategies also apply to students without disabilities who display behavioral problems.
