Abstract

Indemnity insurance systems take various forms, and are applied with various methods, depending on the nature of the risks concerned and policy decision . Such systems have various policy on premium, and include those; 1) operated independently by private insurance companies, 2) involved and administered by the public sector, 3) requiring international reinsurance, and so on. In order for indemnity insurance to contribute to lifestyle stability and the establishment of a safe society, it is necessary to develop options relating to insurance systems, with view to secure finance, coordination with legal systems and regulations, and to develop evaluation criteria for choosing the appropriate insurance system and premium policies. In addition, insurance industry can play supplementary roles for safety standard setting, preventive measures and information provision relating to safety.
