Abstract

A typology of suicide expressions gathered from official case records demonstrates the varied reasons individuals document to justify their acts of self-destruction. Intended to highlight the psychosocial conditions affecting the writer, the statements suggest these youthful committers reacted to external constraints and a perceived lack of succorance from significant others.
