Abstract

This article reports on the quantitative findings that emerged from an evaluation of the impact of Secured by Design (SBD) door and window installations on crime figures within Glasgow Housing Association stock. The findings reveal a strong relationship between SBD installation on crime decreases when compared to the period before installation and to a similar area where no intervention took place. However, given the uneven spread of the impact, there are indications that this intervention may not work in isolation.
