Abstract

Consumers are challenged throughout the life span by changes in their physical and mental functioning. Whether limitations are the result of disease, injury, or aging, variations in ability required to appropriately access products and services often determine an individual's quality of life. In the case of the proper administration of both prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) drugs, user ability becomes critical. An on-going consumer, analysis, conducted by Moore & Associates, is attempting to identify the design and engineering criteria required by consumers as they age and as ability levels vary.
