Abstract

In spite of recurring survey results that show home accidents exceeding those of other environments, there is little indication of real interest in safer home furnishing products by consumers, industry or educational institutions. This paper discusses some of the reasons for this disinterest, some of the more critical products that often are improperly designed, and some suggestions for a changing of attitudes.
