Abstract

The article describes the functioning of the International Road Research Documentation (IRRD) data base which also provides information on transit traffic safety and facilitates efficient research work on issues related to traffic in general. The IRRD scheme covers accident studies under entries 80-85, providing information on research work pursued in the field of traffic safety and transit traffic safety. The article draws on examples of research work on information for road users as pursued and reported by the Australian Road Research Board.
