Abstract

The article studies the characteristics and trends of road traffic accidents in Kuwait and investigates the factors contributing to these accidents. Drivers were found to be the main cause of accidents. It was also found that 58% of total fatalities in the country caused by road traffic accidents involve pedestrians. The effects of complete segregation of vehicles and pedestrians on possible accident reduction were investigated. A total of 1253 injuries sustained in traffic accidents, excluding pedestrians, was examined.
