Abstract

The author discusses the development of a population policy for the Dominican Republic. The concept of such a policy is considered, with a focus on whether the policy should be associated with programs of action and whether it should address only the issue of population growth or should consider other demographic factors as well. Recommendations for designing a population policy are included.
