Abstract

The Semenov model of thermal ignition is reviewed and its applicability to chemical processing is discussed. Three such applications follow: to methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP), to an asphalt based material containing some organic peroxides, and to a cetane enhancer. Discussions herein of any independent piece of work should be seen as a 'critique' rather than as a 'criticism'.
