Abstract

Corner wall and tunnel testing of foamed thermosetting plastics has suggested that the E-84 anomaly can be resolved by the use of a rate index in the range of 0 to 77.5, where a distance criterion currently prevails. Inherent inaccuracies, however, might continue to require occasional corner wall testing. Note: The test method designated E-84 by the American Society for Testing and Materials is also known as NFPA 255 and UL 723.
