Abstract

The use of made of material properties in theoretical studies may vary. It depends on the individual approach, the objective and the quality of result required. This report gives a condensed survey of the present state of knowledge in the field of high temperature properties of concrete, which may assist in giving an answer to the problem of estimating the fire behaviour of concrete members. A new materials model based on recent research results is developed and discussed. The report is divided into three different parts. Section 2 contains a brief introduction to various concrete test methods. Section 3 comprises the properties of concrete according to the existing literature and, in Section 4, a description of analytical models for the calculation of fire behaviour of concrete elements is given.
