Abstract

This work deals with the theoretical basis and engineering methods of calculating the fire resistance of building structures taking into account real fire conditions by using the principle of superposition and the kinetic approach in the determination of the temperature state. Compared to the conventional approach, the kinetic approach allows the real fire exposure conditions and the detailed thermal and mechanical behaviour of the structure to be taken into account. This is demonstrated by an example.
