Abstract

This paper considers the behaviour of concrete walls in fire. A theoretical computer-based method for analysing concrete walls in fire is presented. The model allows for geometric as well as material nonlinearity, and is based on consideration of strain compatibility and force equilibrium in the wall. The influence of such effects as wall height, amount and location of reinforcement, and end restraint are demonstrated. The results of a parameter study for pin-ended walls in fire are presented.
