Abstract

The article focuses on equine lawsuits and the creation of better equine liability laws that protect the horse industry in the U.S. Equine liability has been under tort law theories of contributory negligence and comparative negligence. The negligence theory protects the industry from lawsuits since the horse industry was risky which meant danger coupled with responsibility. About 23,000 people under 20 years of age get injured in equestrian accidents yearly in the U.S.
