Abstract

Reviews some important recent studies showing harmful effects of child abuse as well as the beneficial effects of educational programs designed to deal with abuse. Considers implications for elementary school counselors, stresses need for counselors to implement both effective treatment programs for abused children and programs of child abuse prevention. (NB)
