Abstract

Recommends identifying major social, political, educational, and economic influences that may have direct impact on students and the counselor's role in year 2000. Discusses violence, alcohol and other substance abuse, intolerance, gangs, physical and sexual abuse, sex education, computer technology, changing values, health practices, poverty, changing family structures, and childhood fears.
