Abstract

This study examined effect of violent and (or) neglected student on personality, maternal bonding, reliance, and state-trait anxiety in university students in China. The students answered two scales and ten used subscales. It includes five subscales of personality inventory, two subscales of maternal bonding instrument, and three subscales of reliance inventory. A violent and (or) neglected student scored lower on the scale "agreeableness", and higher on the scales "openness", "neuroticism", "conscientiousness", and "extraversion". Furthermore, a violent and (or) neglected student scored lower on the scale "care", and higher on the scale "over-protection". And, it was found that stating that children victimized by violence and (or) neglected use violence and neglect when they reach adolescence.
