Abstract

There is very little published information on the roles and responsibilities of the Medical Illustration Department (MID) during Health Service major incidents. The purpose of this paper is to highlight the need for preplanned protocols for medical illustration staff that would be used in such incidents. Various types of major incidents are described and the potential contributions of MID staff are detailed.
