Abstract

The purpose of this paper, through a content analysis of the depiction of violence and pro-social behavior in Japanese TV, is to obtain information that contributes to the development of education programs to improve the ability to critically view television programs. National Television Violence in the U.S. study (1996-1998) using a chart of standards and coding framework was developed based on research, community programs for the violence depicted in 280 hours of broadcast time extracted at random from the sample week analyzed the frequency of behavior and context. There are about 70% of violence to show results in a child's favorite cartoon show to watch, especially violence were more common. pro-social programs, including the depiction of 45 stay in the% fewer depictions of conduct that encourages learning.
