Abstract

Shocked by the so-called "Ikeda incident", the killing of 8 primary school children on June 8th 2001, 2 German language classes of Osaka University of Foreign Studies started a trilingual internet project. In this essay, one finds a clear discription of the whole project, 5 students' essays about several related topics like the situation of school children involved in the incident, of the parents of the killed children, of the murderer, etc. and an evaluation of those essays. A conclusion focusses on handling emergencies, violence, and mental diseases.
