Abstract

To date, few systematic risk Analyses/evaluations or studies on safety have been carried out in an effort to understand the nature of accidents and safety in building services. For the purpose of introducing effective safety activities and risk management/analysis/evaluation methods which can be used in future guidelines for safety education/training methods on building services, multifaceted analyses were carried out on safety and accidents conditions of building services by referring to official statistic information and accidents data of a specialized contractor and then accidents prevention methods were proposed in this report. The number of days between entry to a new workplace and accident occurrence was analyzed and designated as a critical element for labor accident prevention activities. The use of a case-based accidents analysis sheet for time-series analysis by cause was proved to be effective. Our future task is to promote these approaches to make a contribution toward preventing labor accidents and improving the quality of construction works.
