Abstract

The organisation, method of operation and evaluation of decentralised medical accident teams established in Christchurch is described. Results from a pilot study undertaken over two years in one area of Christchurch to assess the need for the establishment of these units are documented. The problems associated with communications, equipment and training for this work are discussed.
