Abstract

A report of a death and other complications due to Lippes loop seen over an 18-month period at Baragwanath Hospital are reported. The death occurred due to uterine perforation at the time of insertion. Certain cautions are advised in inserting intrauterine contraceptive devices and frequent examinations are advocated.
