Abstract

Although the domestic violence movement has made great strides in its relatively short history, individualistic perspectives have hindered prevention attempts. Additionally, as the movement has become increasingly bureaucratized, it may be mirroring some of the dominator structures, methods and content found in other institutions. A personal reflection is presented regarding some concerns about the domestic violence movement and emphasizes the ways the movement could benefit from greater understanding of and collaboration with other peace and justice movements. Recommendations are included.
