Abstract

This paper lists and discusses the various kinds of facilities with which road tunnels must be equipped. These include the ventilation system, lighting system, emergency equipment and egress portals, and interior finish. These function to help make a safe environment at ordinary times, but also to protect human lives and prevent damage in an emergency.
