Abstract

When roads have at least two lanes, overtaking has to take place exclusively within these two lanes, and intruding into the opposite stream when overtaking is strictly forbidden. As a result, a completely new situation emerges - the situation of two neighbouring one-way roads. Examples are given on how to treat them separately for improving flow and safety in carefully selected situations.
