Abstract

Family violence is one of the negative impacts affecting the family members and society as a whole. It practically disturbs the peaceful life within the family, and therefore threatens the way the family lives. Due to the prevalence of many bad behaviors, the phenomenon has spread widely paving the way to misleading traditions and wrong concepts in family education. This study aims to showcase to what extent the social work can contribute in setting up rational solutions to the phenomenon. It treats the issue from three perspectives: the culture of violence and motivations, Islam's point of view towards family violence and the role of social work in minimizing the phenomenon's negative effects. The study concludes with some recommendations and findings based on the researcher's point of view.
