Abstract

The issue of a hospital's duty to adequately protect its patients, goes beyond the duty to provide good medical care. Since 1907, courts have been making decisions on hospital liability for injuries to patients by other patients and third parties. In this article, the authors, attorneys, review a number of these cases and present risk management strategies to help healthcare organizations address such issues before they occur.
