Abstract

A pediatric psychiatric facility is a unique healthcare environment which requires different approaches to security as well as variations in traditional security practices. In this article the authors describe the security policies and practices to be expected in such facilities from training, partnering with clinical staff, access control, and surveillance systems to dealing with behavioral excesses that may border on the criminal.
