Abstract

Violence against NHS staff is rife--one manager has been assaulted 15 times in 13 years. NHS staff often lack confidence that their employer will take action if they are physically assaulted. The NHS should adopt a zero-tolerance approach, ensuring all incidents are reported to the police.
