Abstract

The purpose of this study was to construct standardized, equivalent forms of a recreational boating safety knowledge test. A table of specifications was used to develop to test forms from a bank of 240 items. These forms were screened by a panel of experts, resulting in two preliminary tests of 100 items each. The parliamentary tests were administered to two groups of subjects. The data were analyzed and two final forms of 50 items each were developed. The final forms were administered to two groups of subjects to calculate descriptive statistics and percentile ranks. The reliability estimates of the final forms indicated that the tests were parallel.
