Abstract

Many nations, including those in developing countries, whose workers are the most susceptible to exploitation, have in place statutes and regulations to protect the rights to life, health, and livelihoods of their people. Some of these efforts to protect human rights are detailed, and specific instances in which the protections they were intended to offer have been ineffective are described. The authors argue for adding strength to States' legislation to truly protect human rights.
