Abstract

The Articulated Total Body Model/Crash Victim Simulator (ATB/CVS) is a three dimensional model used to study human and/or dummy biomechanics in various crash situations. This paper gives a short description of the new features of the model. These include: (1) an increase in the number of segments; (2) a mass-flow inflation algorithm for the airbag; and (3) an automatic point generator for the harness (seatbelt) routines. The new features allow one to model, for example, an airbag attached to a collapsible steering column. This paper gives a short description of the new features.
