Abstract

This study aims to investigate the relationship between the adolescents' depression states and their feelings of guiltiness and embarrassment and between those feelings and variables like gender, age, school performance and parental education levels. The sampling group consisted of 187 adolescents. The survey model was used. As a result, the levels of depression, guiltiness and embarrassment among the girls were higher. Regarding the age, the adolescents 17 years old, and the adolescents whose mothers had primary school degree had higher levels of guiltiness and embarrassment. There was a significant relation between guiltiness and embarrassment.
