Abstract

Wireless and sensor technologies have made great progress in recent years, promising a dramatic improvement in road safety and extending further benefits already provided by passive and active systems. This article discusses how the combination of wireless solutions for enhanced communications could bridge existing gaps between passive and active technologies and enhance traffic safety.
