Abstract

Reducing impact injury's effects on vehicle occupants and pedestrians is being extensively focused on as legislators and consumers place increasing importance on road safety. The author presents an overview of Cellbond's deformable honeycomb barriers, designed to absorb energy created during automobile collisions. Corex Honeycomb is the brand name that the company manufactures all its own aluminum honeycomb under. Project focused activity, product development, finite element analysis, and crash safety testing are all discussed. To help achieve 'Vision Zero' across the world and the industry, Cellbond hires out its test laboratories to support the product development of other companies in addition to internal product development. An author question and answer column is included.
