Abstract

The factors that cause damage to roads at high altitude areas, mainly due to weather and terrain conditions, are described. Effects of high altitude climate on men and machinery are reviewed, and precautionary measures suggested. It is considered that with proper planning, education, experience and certain amount of precautionary measures, the hazards can be checked and reduced to a great extent. (TRRL)
