Abstract

The authors introduce an economic earth retaining structure, called a boulder gabion retaining wall, for use in submountainous regions in India for different types of structures. The advantages of this type of structure over the conventional one are discussed. Design of gabion retaining walls is explained with suitable examples. (TRRL)
