Abstract

On March 17, 2000, a 31-year-old male career firefighter/engineer died after the apparatus (fire truck) he was driving collided with an Amtrak train. The victim was returning from a false alarm. This article describes the findings of the investigation conducted by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health into this fatal incident.
