Abstract

The camera reverse-projection method of accident reconstruction is utilized to determine the critical features of a particular accident scene at the time of the accident. Given one or more photographs of an accident scene, it is possible to measure precisely all topographical features in order to provide input for detailed computerized accident reconstruction, or to serve as a basis for vehicle/scene testing. In addition, evidentiary photographs, as offered, may be either validated or discredited by means of careful comparison with cels of a given subject as it actually appears to the eye. By this means, it can be determined whether photographic manipulation has occurred, inadvertently or otherwise, and any interpretive misimpressions can be minimized.
