Abstract

In the past, ocean-going container security concerns were focused on drug smuggling and product theft in the supply chain. Due to terrorist attacks around the world, there is heightened awareness regarding security of incoming and outgoing shipments and the threat that terrorists will use these containers to infiltrate the supply chain system. Firms must consider these implications in their entire supply chain design.
