Abstract

The article examines the crimes and travels of 22 American, 4 European, and 1 Chinese serial killers employed as regional or long-distance truck drivers. The subjects selected were obtained through various database searches that included LexisNexis(r), Google(r) and the National Newspaper Index(r). The article provides an overview of the offenders, victims, geographic locations, modus operandi, and offender variables. Additionally, the article presents a set of strategies that might be implemented by the trucking industry and law enforcement to prevent or reduce the occurrence of these offenses.
