Abstract

In today's society one of the most pressing health care problems is family violence. This article focuses on female abuse and how critical care nurses need to gain awareness of their attitudes about battered women, educate themselves about the dynamics of battering and obtain the knowledge and skills needed for effective assessment and nursing intervention.
