Abstract

Successful approaches used with the resident with a dementia diagnosis are covered in this presentation. Areas included are communication skills, routines, creation of a stable environment and affecting change through a specialized day program. The goals of this presentation are to have Activity Professtonals become more proficient in programming for the dementia population and analyz- ing how to provide these programs in a restraint-free environment.
