Abstract

Phased retirement is a worklife option advocated by some gerontologists and benefits managers as a positive experience for older workers and their employers. This paper moves from a theoretical discussion to the actual experience of a group of phased retirees and their supervisors. The questions asked of both groups center around their work relationship and how phased retirement changed that relationship, if at all.
