Abstract

This article describes how a program of blood pressure-health screening clinics run by nursing students from the Marquette University College of Nursing helps the elderly maintain independence. The elderly clients are assisted in this by the students' contributions in health education, health promotion, health counseling, disease detection, disease prevention, making referrals, and personal support. Case examples are included.
